A lineup of nigiri as part of the prefix menu.
Do you even need to read the review after looking at that picture? Listen up folks, this place is the real deal. "What does the 'real deal' mean?" you ask. Well, by real deal I mean Chef Shiro Kashiba makes sushi thats about as close as it gets to perfect. By real deal I mean you can catch this man in the popular Netflix documentary 'Jiro Dreams of Sushi'. I don't know what else to tell you except this is hands down the best sushi I've ever had and it's worth the high price tag. Have a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or find any excuse to go here and make the splurge if you are a sushi lover.
There isn't much to say about the menu except that - and hopefully given the background of the chef you know this - this is not a place to order a Vegas roll. This is where you go to get a prefixed set of Nigiri or go Omakase. Also, if you tell your waiter what type of fish you like, they'll probably bring something that'll blow your mind that you never even thought to order.
So, with your options being pretty straightforward, the only other thing I'll say about this place is to either get a reservation for a table or, if you're smart enough to want to get a seat at the counter, you'll need to line up well before they open. It's not uncommon to find Shiro himself in the restaurant, which I really respect and seems to make an impact on everyone working there. This place runs like clockwork and I've never had more attentive servers in any other restaurant. It doesn't feel like your every move is being watched, but seriously no dirty dish or chopstick wrapper sits on your table for more than 30 seconds before being discreetly taken away. The sushi also comes out like a well-oiled machine. It was all so beautiful I didn't even think to take many pictures and my only regret is that we didn't go to this place more when we lived in Seattle (we tried it toward the end of our time there). So find an excuse for a fancy dinner and take in the view of the Puget Sound while the fish melts in your mouth.
