New York has no shortage of good bagels, but Tompkins Square bagels are some of our favorites. No matter where I'm getting bagels, my go to is a bacon egg & cheese. If you want to venture out, though, Tompkins Square seems to have more options than most any other worthwhile bagel spot.
A couple of favorites have to be the Weezer (basically a bacon egg & cheese with chorizo and cream cheese) or their french toast bagel with the triple berry cream cheese, if you're looking for something sweet (I don't usually like sweet bagels, but I'll never pass this one up).
Honestly, if Tompkins Square Bagels were in a more convenient location, I think I'd make this place a regular stop. A final note is, unlike some other bagel places (cough cough, Ess-a-bagel), the long line here seems to move fairly quickly. They have someone walking down the line to take your order, so be ready to rumble and don't plan on making a game-time decision at the register.
