If you're going to include 'the mother of Gelato' in the name of your restaurant, you either have some serious guts, or it's really that good. Thankfully in this case, it's really that good, which is why it's hard to stumble across this place without a line out the door (unless you're like us and are still eating ice cream in the bleak midwinter of NYC).

Get whatever flavor you want. You can sample stuff and they'll actually put enough on the sample spoon for you to taste it (seriously, for whatever reason this place rocks at samples).  My favorite is the mint because it tastes like the Fernwood chocolate mint squares I used to steal from my Dad's candy cupboard.  Look at me now, Dad.
