Lure Fishbar

The Bash Burger

Wow, what kind of dingus gets a burger at a place called Lure Fishbar?  Well, this might be the only seafood place in the world where people won't look at you funny for getting a burger.  I first heard about this place from The Burger Show, which is a great series if you care at all about burgers across America. Needless to say, I had my mind made up on what to order when I sat down here despite the expensive sea food recommendations from the server (which all looked very good as well).

Watch the video for more detail on the burger. My two cents is that it was great. I could've used some more of that bacon onion jam, but everything else was spot on and was just a high-quality burger.  Honestly though, the coolest part about this place wasn't just the food, it was the atmosphere.  The restaurant is built to feel like your inside a fancy ship. The windows are round, most of the restaurant is set underground, there's lots of light wood and blue upholstery to give the whole place a nautical feel. Not in a cheesy way like at your grandparents yacht club, more like the Titanic but with a happy ending.

Soho restaurant, or ship?

I wish I could speak more to the seafood here, but you can't go wrong with the burger.  This might be a cool place to impress your friends because you might forget once or twice during your meal that you are actually in Soho and not on the Sea. If you're after good burgers in NYC you could always try the other two mentioned in the video (J.G. Mellon & Peter Luger); or you could always go with my top picks (so far) - Au Cheval & Gramercy Tavern.
